How I write poemsHow I write poems.

1. Pick a phrase, word, emotion, or idea

(Ex; Monday)

2. Try and find good descriptive words that relate to that idea

(Ex; Monday, Sunday [rhymes! :D], Beginning of week, weekdays, dates, time, fresh start)

3. Take your words and connect them through lines

Example;

Today is Monday,
The beginning of the week,
It's the day that I long for,
A fresh start for all,
A grand date and time,
To jot down these lines,
Monday is the best day of all

4. Give it a format. I personally like to use rhymes.

If there was a way to start,
To take away the tender heart,
A way to be free,
Of the lies, misery,
To be broken,
But no longer lost within me,

If only you could know,
About this shattered world,
Begging to be whole,
How it creaks and it groans,
Saying save me,
But afraid to let go,
To trust in another soul,

If only you could see,
The tragic eyes of the diseased,
Or the parasitic life form that feeds,
On the backs of the broken,
And hearts of the weak,
If only you could cure me,

Your face is unmasked,
Guard unwillingly dropped fast,
Pulled to the breaking point and thrown back,
